MEN'S BROTHERHOOD.

Yesterday was colebrated as "Mothers Day" by the Men's Brotherhood, and the afternoon meeting in the New Theatre was attended by upwards of 400 men. Mr. J. Dawson was in the chair. An address was delivered by Dr. Platts-Mills, in which she traced the history of woman from the- creation until the present day. The Hon. G. Laurcnson was to have spoken also, but ho telegraphed on Saturday that he could not possibly be in "Wellington on Sunday. Mrs. "Williams recited "Which One?" and Miss Lulu Arnold s "Home, Sweet Home." Two solos suitable to the festival were sung by the Eev. A. C'arr.
