WEREROA EXPERIMENT FARM.
SURPLUS FRUIT TREES. •Vt tho last meeting of the Horowhenua Fruitgrowers' Association the following letter was received from the Director of Fields and Experiment Farms Division of the Agricultural Department:— "I have to acknowledge receipt of your letter of April 19, and in reply hnvo to slato that the proposal that somo of the Orchard frees that may be removed from the Wereroa orchard would he available for settlers in the district was provided for before tho receipt of your letter. On April 10 the manager of the farm was advised that any person who wished to retain such trees could do so without charge. I was under the impression that your Association was aware of this through conversations on the place during the visits of your members. Wereroa is beinfr communicated with now, asking that you be advised when these trees are being removed. It will bo wel to stipulate that those who wish to obtain trees must send in an application through your association to the farm. This, however, can be arranged between yourselves and the manager, who will ,bo supplied with a copy of this communication. As your members are! practically orchardists I should esteem it a favour if you could advise me up to what age do you consider fruit trees may be planted; that is, accepting the desirability from tho commercial aspect." It was decided to write to Air. Drysdalo and ask for a list of tho names of pears and plum trees to be cut down. The success of a Dairy Factory is not attained by mere hick—it is tho result of the manager's sound sense and good equipment. "Victor" Vats have played a large part in profit-building in fnctories, and one manager says a "Victor" is the best Vat he has used in twelve years' experience. Write for particulars. Albert ,F. Parton, Carterton. Chick-rearing is not only profitable, but a pleasure, when you feed "A and P" Chick-Raiser. It is complete nnd pro-perly-blended food for Young Chicks. Obtainable from all storekeepers.—-Advt.
