LOCAL FRUIT SUPPLIES DECLINING. Very little fruit from Sydney reached the Allon and Blair Street markets this week. A few pineapples brought Us. to 18s., and ft small shipment of lemons realised' 11s. to 14s. The first of tho seasons mandarins nrrived ami sold at 13s. to 145.; passion fruit mode 6s. to 9s. lho Melbourne boat yesterday landed, a few lemons which quitted at an average of about 17s. Gd. During the week a shipment of Island oranges via Auckland came to hand, but they- were landed in very bad order and sold at from Is. to 4s. Gd. per case. _ Local supplies of fruit are falling-off and values are rising accordingly. Dessert apples realise ss. 6d. to Bs., according to the quality of variety, and cooking sorts yield 4s. 6d. to ss. 3d. Pears are also in good demand. ' Winter Coles and winter Nelis bring from 9s. to 12s. per .case, whilst cooking varieties sell at ss. to ' 6s. • , Vegetables are in very fair supply, but cabbages are still rather on tho heavy side. Choice cauliflowers bring 9s. to 125., and other sorts ss. to 7s. Savoy cabbage nro worth 2s. to 2s. Gd., and other sorts Is. to Is. Gd. French beans command (is. to 7s. Gd. per part sack. Other prices are:—Pumpkins, 35.. Gd. to Gs. sack, according to variety; vegetable marrow, 2s. Gd. to 35.; parsnips, 3s. 6d. to 4s. Gd.; carrots, 3s. to 3s. Gd.; turnips, Is. to Is. 6d.; artichokes, 3s. Gd. per sugar bag; pie melons, 7s. 6d. to 95.; choice lettuce, Is.
