It was then found that tho Wairoa- had four inches of freeboard to spare ■ before being loaded down to her limit. On Wednesday her two lifoboats 'woro boing provisioned 'and equipped with compasses arid other gear required by law. Yosterday was occupied in putting the finishing tonchea to her deck gear, and judging by appearances, tho Wairoa will probably leave to-day. The Wairoa will be commanded by Captain Perriam. Mr. Eichardson la chief mate, Mr. licid second mate, and Mr. M'Keegan chief engineer. Mr. May, who is in charge of the'arrangements, states that the Wairoa will make two trips to the Auckland Islands with stores and gear beforo ho noes down, tmd i'n tho meantime it is expected that most of the preliminary work will bo completed.—"Otago Daily Times." According to advices received locally, the Shaw, Savill steamer Arawa arrived at Hobart on Thursday night. The vessel is expected here on May 15. COLLIEr, MOVEMENTS. Tho Navua is to leavo Westport this evening with a full load of bua! for Wellington. She will probably arrive tomorrow. The Komala leaves Westport, to-morrow morning, with a load of coal for Wellington, and is duo here on Monday. The Bosamond leaves Westport on Sunday for Wellington, and should su-rivo on Monday night. WESTPORT COAL EXPORT. The return issued by the Westport Harbour Board on the export of coal, etc., says: —During the month of April 67,528 tons of coal wore exported. Of thi3 amount the Wostport Coal Company contributed 42.C03 tons, the Westport-Stockton Coal Company 10.296 tons, and the State Coal Mines 5228 tons. Coal ehipped to foreign ports amounted to 3842 tons, which is made up as follow.—To Fiji. 1335 tons; to Sydney, 2507 tons. Tho amount of timber exported was 150,835 sup. feet.
