ACTION FOB IMPROVEMENT. The Makara Connty Council at its meeting yesterday had undo* consideration the matter' of widening the Npalimiranga Road from a point below the city abattoirs. The estimated cost is £1500, towards which the Mntoira Count)- Council will contribute ,£SOO. A committee, consisting of Councillors Haggarty, laylor, Eastwood, and Moore, have been appointed to interview tlio Wellington City Council and the Minister for ruulio Works with regard to contributions of JCSOO respectively from the City Council and the Government. Should any diiiieulty arise in that connection, tin Makara County Council will ask for a commission to determino the amount oi the Wellington City Council's contribution. • The bridges in the length oi road in question are now unsafe for traffic, and the cost of their renown! beyond the means of the Mnlinra Otont/ Council.
