WELLINGTON SHARE MARKET. The market war. again very dull yesterday, and there wore only two sales recorded. The following sales were reported on the Stock Exchange to-day:— Westport Coal, £1 9s. 5d.. £1 9s. Sd., £1 9s. 9d. Bank of New Zealand. £11 12s, 6d. New Zealand Insurance, £4 las., £4 lfts. fid. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile, 10s. 6d. Chrifstchurch Moat, £15 ss. National Bank, £6 2s. (two parcels). New Zealand Drug, £2 10s. 6d. WATCHMAN G.M. COMPANY. The mine manager reports as follows for the week ended May 4:— During the week work has been in progress in various parts of the mine as usual. The intermediate level in the No. 1 rise hao been advanced :i further distance of 9ft., making a. total of 14ft. to date. This drive is penetrating a face of all ouartz of a promising nature, but so far has shown very little gold. No. 1 Winze.—Two shiftv have been engaged cutting through the reef at a depth of 20ft. for the purpose of intersecting tho hanging-wail, and so far 22ft. has been driven from the r.ide of the winze, making a total of 27ft., including the winze. For the last few feet, driven the reef has shown a few pieces of stouc in which gold can be freely teen, and to all appearances the I'.anging-waU has been met with. I intend driving into the footwa.ll for the purpose of proving that all quartz is in hand before sinking is resumed. No. 2 Chamber—Two ehifts have been engased in this work, and so far 15ft. has been driven in the footwail, through all quartz, and to all appearances tho Tecf now being driven on at.the 570 crosscut is in hand. This quartz looks .well, and so far has shown gold freely. I intend driv. ing this face in" a southerly direction for the purpose of being sufficiently clear bri'ore starting to sink. No. 3 Rise.—Two shifts have been engaged in this work, and so far a total distance of 31ft. lias been attained. The reef has nhown no change to that of my last week's report. 570 Crosscut North Facc.-This face has been advanced lift., makinu a total of 109 ft. to date. This face is all quartz, measuring about sft. wide, with quartz still showing in the footwail. The ouartz looks well, and a, little gold is occasionally seen in the stone. Sunbeam Rise.—There has been no work done in this rise lor the past week, Two men are engaged repairing the Royal Charter level.
