CHEESE STOKE AND FERRY AVHAKVES. Sonio important harbour improvements are to-be put in hand by the board almost iminedii-.tcly. Tenders are about to be called for a cheese store, which it is proposed to erect on the wiiler-fronl, between the King's Wharf and the Glasgow Wharf. A. large entrance on the wharf will enable the smaller ships to discharge cheese praelieally into the store, and a railway'siding wi" be made on Waterloo Quay, adjoining the shed. "The main portion of the new store building will be of brick. It is to contain two buys, one of which will be iilty feel by seventy feet, and will be one story hiirh. Additions will bo mi |(| o . to the store m future ns the demands of ilm trade require. The site selected affords ample space for additional building. Another undertaking in immediato prospect is an extension of tho ferry accommodation. The existing ferry wharf is lo be lengthened by GOft., and a new jetlr, having n length equal to that of the'present wharf, is to be constructed. New" offices aro now being built across the ferry wharf entrance. Provision is being made for a cart entrance, and for passenger approaches, which will be fitted with turnstiles.
