CHRISTIE'S MINE-GREEN ISLAND.
NEBULOUS POSITION. (By Telozrauh—Proft Auoclatlon.i Dunedin, May !). ( In regard to the dispute at Ohrastie's mine at Green Island, a meeting of representatives of Freeman's Co. and the Jubilee Coal Co. was held this afternoon, when each company agreed to take on seven out of the 17 men on strike, leaving three men, who, it was stated, would be at once, taken on by Christie's at tlie neve pit.. A lettoT to this effect was submitted to a meeting of the men at Fairfield to-night, when it was unanimously decided to agree to the terms of the letter and start work at cuce. At a late hour to-nijiit, however, Mr. James Christie stated that he was no parrv to the meeting in tlm afternoon, mid'w.ould employ mmi- til' I lie strikers utile*, the strike was declared oil'.
