PRIVATE ELECTRIC LINES.

NEW REGULATIONS. Tho following amended regulations in regard to private electric, lines arc published in tho current Gazelle:— "Private wires between places of business or other premises in towns where there are telephone polos which, in the opinion of the Secretary of the Post and Telegraph Department, may be conveniently used for carrying such private wires without detriment to the Department's business, -nay be erected on Piioh telephone poles at the cost of the applicant, in addition to a charge of "is. per pole for the privilege of using I hose poles. Such private wires shall bo maintained by the Department at the followinjf rate*, payable yearly in advance:— "For the first mile or fraction thereof £2 per annum, and 10s. per annum for every additional quarter of a mile or fraction thereof.
