Wedding at Christchurch, A vary pretty wilding tnok place at Avonsidc Church, Christchnrcli, on April •25, when Hiss Winifred Kthel Hoard, tiio youngest daughter of Jlr. F. i. Hoard, of Limvoud, was married to .Mr. 11. AV. J. Cook, eldest son of Mr. A. W. J. Coolc, of Wellington. The Uev. Othn Titzgcrald, vicar of the parish, olliciated. After the ceremony the guests were entertained at the wedding breakfast, which was held in (he church schoolroom. Miss Bessie Board and Miss Doris Cook wore the bridesmaids, and Mr. U. Cook was the best man. The bride wore a tunic gown of ivory Venetian do soie, with ninon fichu, ami long sash, cuds falling over the squan.train, and veil end wreath of orange blossoms. .She carried a bouquet of white geraniums and maiden-hair fern. .Miss liessie Board (sister of the. bride) was in an (inpirc gown of ivory Japanese satin, with yoke and sleeves of tucked chiil'oa, trimmed with crystal embroidery, and hat of white tagol straw, with folds am! bow of pink silk. Her bouquet was of pink roses. Miss Doris Cook was m cream charmeuse trimmed with lace- and tucked net, finished with a cream silk girdle, and hot of white tngel straw, trimmed with pink silk folds and a butterfly bow. Mrs'. Hoard, the mother of the bride, wore a dress of Burgundy pnilcUo. silk, with trimmings of Oriental embroidery, panel skirt, with long square train, hat. of black velvet, with white feather mount. Mrs. Cook, mother of trio bridegroom, was in a frock of Burgundy silk, with Oriental trimming find net, blaclc and white hat, white feather lxja. At the breakfast the health of tire ncirl.vmarried couple (and also that of the bridesmaids) was drunk with enthusiasm. Mr. H. A. An enjoyable little dance was held in the Masonic Hall, Boukott Strrot. on Tuesday evening by the .St. Peter's Lawn Tennis Club. The hall was prettily decorated with lycopodium and numerous palms. Mrs. Joseph Mandel, her daughters, and son, leave for Sydney on Friday, sailing from there on May 15 by the Scharuhorst, for Europe... Miss Stringer (Christchurch) is visiting Wellington and is the guest of Mrs. Isaacs. Mr. and Mrs. Adam Bell (Blenheim) arc over on a visit to Wellington. Miss Eraser (Christchurch) who has been staying with her brother in Wellington, left for the .south last evening. Miss Eastwood arrived in Wellington on Tuesday from Kelson, and goes on to New Plymouth, where she will spend the next two or three weeks. Miss Baxter (Nelson) passed .through Wellington yesterday on her way to the south.
