YORKSHIRE SOCIETY.
The monthly meeting of tlio Yorkshire Society took the form of a smoke concert sit Gedber's Kooms, Cuba Street, Inst .oveniiip;. The 'Rev. J. 11. Sykes, president,, was in (he chair, end Ihere was a good attendance. An enjoyable evening was spent in aatig and story. The toast list included "The King"; "The Governor"; "Our County," proposed by Mr, HelHwoll; "Commerce and Trade," proposed by Mr. G. T. Hall; nml "The Land Wo Live In." During tho evening songs were sun? by Messrs. E. fl. L. I? cade, A. Boyd, A. Fortune, W. Parkin, Harper, and Tlowe. Other items were given by Jlr. Marcus Harks (humorous sketch), Jtr. Iklliwoll (recitation), the Eev. J. H. Sykes (rending), and Mr. H. J. Barley (reading). Mr. John Allen was at the pinno.
