(From Our Special Correspondent.) <t Little or no interest was taken in tho election of a member for the lIuU River Board yesterday. There were 4000 available vote?, but out of these only 278 votes were recorded. Til" poll resulted as follows :-G. Bowers, 118; J. Mabey, 112; V. 11. Gosse, 42. The monthly mcplinsr of the I'otone Technical School Board was Jield last evenin;,', and wns attended by the Kev. A. Thomson (chairman), <uul Messrs. Castle, London, llcpe. Rowland, Trueman, and M'Ewan. On the motion of Mr. M'Ewan, it was resolved to ]iier?o the two drawinif classes into one under the control of -Air. Howe. The director reported that some of the classes had already finished the quarter, whilst the reuiaiiuler would conclude this week. Ihe report recommended iliai pup'ils who liarl eoinpleted their fourth term in tl|o wcolclass be examined by the instructor, and another expert. It uas decided to appoint Mr. S. V. Burridge to act in conjunction with the instructor in conducting the examination.
