CITY FIRES.
• BLAZE OX THE TERRACE BOA If D J XGHOUSE DA MA GFJ). Just before fix o'clock laf-t evening a tire broke out in a large private boardinghouse oil "Wellington Terrace. Tho liou-e, 145. contains. eleven roams. It is occupied by Mrs. Catherine Edwards, and owned by Mr. J. M. liiclianUcn. of 'Ki- AYelHngton Terrace. 'When the brigade arrived the Sre had a good ho'd at the back of the house, but the flames were very quickly suppressed. Tho outbreak .started in the washhouse, and was caused by a spark from the copper tire. The washhouse and the dining-room (which is directly above the washhouse) fullered most. The coiltents "of the dining-room wc-rc badly damaged. Other portions of the bouse were severely scorched. There was: very little wind at the time, but the fire was'progressing rapidly when the brigade arrive:!. The house next door (No. 143), a nmerromcd structure, owned by Mr. Richardson, and occupied by JLr. James Hogg as a private boordinghou«o, received a slight scorching. . The contents of ~So. 115 were insured ill the London, Liverpool, anil Globo Office for JE3OO, and the building also was insured. ANOTHER OUTBREAK. •\t n quarter to four yesterday afternoon the City Eire Brigade received a rail to S8 Hoiloway Road, a six-roomed house owned and occupied by Mr. Patrick O'Shea. The fire commenced through vnnic linen wliich was being aired the fire catching alight. One room and its contents were much damaged, and another room and part of the verandah were damaged by heat and smoke. There was some insurance oil the house, but tho contents were not insured.
