BISHOP OF TRURO. fly Telegraph-Press Association—Copyright. London, May 7. The Bishop of Truro'is dead. The Right Rev. Charles William Stubbs, Bishop of Truro,' was the only son of Charles Stubbs, of Liverpool. He was educated at the Royal Institution School, Liverpool, and afterwards entered Sydney Sussex College, Cambridge. He took his B.A.'degree, with mathematical honours, in 1868, and his'M.A. degree in 1876, and in IOOt became Hon. Fellow of Sydney (Sussex College. He senior curato of St. Mary's, Sheffield, 1868-71, and afterwfirds became Vicar of Granboro, Bucks, 1671-84; Vicar of Stokenhain, South Devon, 1884-88; Vicar of Wavertreo, Liverpool, 1888-94. Subsequently lie became Dean of Ely, select preacher at, in succession, Cambridge, Oxford, and Harvard, U.S.A.; Lady Margaret preacher, Cambridge, 183b; ITulsean Lecturer, 1904-5. He was appointed Bishop of Truro in 1900. Bishop Truro was also tho author of many, literary works and books of verse, including: "Historical Memorials of Lly Cathedral, "Charles Kingsley and the Christian Social Movement," • "Cambridge and Its Storv," "Christ and Economics, The Social Teachings of the Lord s Prayer, "Christ of English Poetry, _ Cornish Bells, Carols, and Verses, "Origin and Growth of Sentiments of International Morality," and many others.
