» SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Present Indications are for easterly winds, strong to gale, northward of East Cape and Kawhai, south-easterlies' increasing thence to KaiUoura, and Farewell Snit. and moderate to strong southerlies elsewhere. Unsettled and stormy weather probable in t.lio North Island shortly, with heavy rain in the northern districts, and rain probably following over the North Island. Cool and changeable probable in the south. The barometer has a falling tendency everywhere, ospecially in the North, Moderate to strong south-easterly winds have prevailed, with cool and changeable weather, and showery at times, in tho northernmost districts.
