BONGOTEA BRANCH MEETING. (liy Tclejrapb.-Special Correspondent.) Palmerston N., May (>. The annual meeting of the Bongotea branch of the Farmers' Union was held on Saturday, Mr. J. Gloyne in the chair. The balance-sheet showed a crcdit of .£7 19«. The lYangantii Education Board wrote notifving that a veterinary surgeon wan prepared to conduct lectures in Bongotea. The course of lectures covered a wide area and would be very useful to farmers. Hie secretary and Messrs. Gitlord and Gloyne were appointed to endeavour to arrange for a class in Rongotea. The secretary of the l'almerston branch wrote forn-ardini,' a copy of the telephone scheme for country districts as carried out bv the V.'aipawa County Council. It was decided to call the attention of the Manawatu County Council to the scheme and ask it to carefully consider the mattcv. The flection of officers rosultrd as follows:—Chairman. Mr. T. Clifford; vicechairman, Mr. J. Gloyne; secretary, Mr. A. C. Berry: auditor, Mr. ,T. Bleakloy; committee. Messrs. T. Gilford, B. B. Bunt, B. I?. M'lCeuzie, J. Gloyne, C. Walkius. E. E. O'Neale, ,T. Benson, .T. I)oughtv, J. I.iimsden. ,\. C. Terry, P. M'Kenzie. and G. IMiillins; delegate to eonfereneo, Mr. H. B. M'Kcnzio. The subscription for the year was fixed I on the eomitv valuation at (he rate of 7s. on XIAO or under, and to increase by 1s! per .£IOOO up to a maximum of .IDs.
