On the motion of Mr. Buchanan, it was decided to submit a remit that tha Railway Department bo urged to consider the practicability of the speedier carriage and delivery of all live stock. It was decided that the delegates to the conference be entertained at a banquet. A committee, consisting of the chairman, Mr. Gardiner, and tho secretary, was set up to make arrangements for the functions. Invitations arc to be extended (o the Premier (Hon. T. Mackenzie), the Government • Chiof Veterinarian (Mr. Roakes), Messrs. D. Buick, 1). H. Guthrie, E. Newman, and Escott, M.P.'s. The sub-committee appointed to draw up conditions in connection with the prize oftcred by Mr. J. G. AVilson for the milkttsting competition for farmers' sons, met and decided that. Hie district should bo the Kairanpa County, with the addition of Bunnythorpe and AMihiirst; the minimum number of cows to b« ten; and tho period of testing to extend from July 1, 1912, to .Tune 30. 191.'). Teslines have to bo made of the last week's milk in each month. The competition is open to all fanners' sons under tho age of 21 years.
