About twenty people attended a meeting held at Marmuii last night to consider a proposal to form a combined bowling and iawn tennis club in the district. Mr. J. ]{. Stansell presided. A site had been offered in Apu Crescent by a land-selling firm, and a previous meeting appointed a committee to investigate whether a club could be formed. Tho opinion of the expert consulted was to the efi'ect that a. first-class green could be made on it. The committee suggested that the club should be formed into a limited liability company, with a nominal capital of .£100(1 in .ill shares. It was not anticipated (hat moro than 10s, need be called up. The committee suggested (hat no member should hold more than 10 shares, and that every member should take up at least ono share on joining the club. This report was presented to tho meeting last night, and it was adopted meantime. It was pointed out that the committee would finance the purchase of the ground easily, but they wished to havo enough shares to provide some -£125. tho cost of tho first year's upkeep, forty shares were applied for in tho room, and those present agreed to make a personal canvass for other members.
