The census return giving the religious classifications in the Commonwealth show the following figures for the leading sects: Church of England, 1,710,413; Roman Catholic, 921,123; Presbyterian, 558,336; Methodist, 517,800; Congregational, 72,016; Baptist, 97,074; Church of Christ, 35.715; Salvationists, 2G.GG3; Protestant undefined, 10,981. Freethinkers number 3251, and Agnostics SOS 4.
