Tho following announcement appears in this week's Gazette, published last even'""His Excellency the Governor has been pleaded to dismiss from tuo New Zealand jjefonco Forces, under the provisions of Section 5 (a) of tho Defenne Act, 1909, I.ieu'tennnt '(temporary Captain) Anthony Hormuzd Itassani, New Zealand Staff Corns for absence from tho Dominion without lenve. Dated January 15,_ 1912." Captain Rassam was employed m tlio New Zealand Forces as area officer at Wellington, under the new defence scheme, and was also adjutant of the Fifth Eesiment.
