PROPOSED LOCAL ARMISTICE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Rec. April 30, 11.30 p.m.) London, April 30. Mr. F. D. Acland, Under-Secretary for •Foreign Affah'3, in reply to a question suggesting a local armistice to ennblo detained ships to pass the Dardanelles, declared that Sir E. Grey, Foreign Minister, was consulting tho Powers regarding such a temporary measure if tho channel was not opened soon.
DECISION OF TUB PORTE. (Reo. Moy 1, 0.30 a.m.) London, April 30. Renter's Constantinople correspondent states that the Porte declines to leopen tho Dardanelles while the Italians are cruising in the Archipelago, unless the Powers guarantee tho security of the Straits.
