A MILD SENTENCE. By Telegraph -Press Association— Copyricht. Sydney, April 30. At tho trial of Alexander Handcock, charged with shooting Emanuel Consett Polsen, at Uralla, on February 10, accused, in his defence, stated that Polsen followed him round the town. Ho was very frightened of him at the time of the shooting. A verdict of guilty of manslaughter was returned and accused was sentenced until tho rising of the Court. Handcock and Polsen quarrelled at the bar of a hotel at TJralla, jealousy being the cause, as both were paying court to the same girl. Polsen was shot in the temple, and during tho excitement Handcock escaped to the bush.
