OVER-HEATED CHINESE.
STREET SCENE IN PETONS.. Some excitement was caused in Peton*' yesterday through a local resident and a Ciuneso 'having a difference in «io of the public streets. It appears that tho Chinese asked tho European to read something that was written on a piece pt paper, whereupon the European pocketed tin! manuscript and started to walk away; Tho Chinaman then became excited, and, shouting mid waring his arms made for his hawking cart, unci returned to the white man with a butchers knife in his hand Tho European armed himself with ft piece of iron piping, and things looked dangerous. However, ft. young way Kh'imod in between the combatants with wonderful courage, and after admonishing both parties, rxmee was restored.
