PALMERSTON DAY BY DAY.
(By Tclttraph.-SDecial Correspondent.) Palmerston, April 28. A five-roomed house on i'oxton Line was completely destroyed by fire at half-past one this morning. The building, which was owned by Mrs. Fitt, of Duuodin, was a mass of finnies. before the alarm was given, and, consequently, the brigade was unable to save any portion of it. At a meeting of mcmlfers of the Manawatu Flnxmill Employees' Union the matter of establishing a labour bureau was discussed, but it was decided not to take action in tho matter. A commencement is to be made this week with (lie erection of workers' dwellings here.
