CONFIDENCE OF MI?, COLYIN. (By Tclciraph.— Press Aesoclation.l Christchurch, April 28. Mr. George Withy, M.P. for liiecartoa, was Inst night tendered a complimentary social at Darfield. Mi , . V. Morrison presicletl over a good attendance, which was not confined lo Mr. Withy's supporters alone. Amongst those present were the Hon. .Tames Colrin, Minister for Mines, who paid a high tribute to Mr. Withy's abilities. Mr. C'olvin. expressed the opinion that, whoever was at the head of tho Liberal party, it would remain in power, Tho country would not allow the Opposition to take, office, and to reap tho fruits of tho Liberal party. Referring to current affairs, Mr. Colvin expressed the opinion that thcro would ho no "rats" in the Liberal party. Every man would prove loyal. Ho fould not say that, there would liot bo a bit of a "mix up" in things, but lot them go (o (ho country, nnd the Liberal parly would come back to power.
