Two members of the local Advisory Board, Dr. Prendergast Knight and Mr. Jackson, have iust visited the Talisman and yesterday telegraphed from Karangahake to Mr. Shailer Weston as follows-.—Satisfied with the mine. Present face, north drive from bottom of No. 12 winze, etiual the best values yet obtained in the mine. Inform press. THE TALISMAN MINE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Karangahake, April 26. Messrs. Knight and Jackson, on behalf of the Talisman local board, have sent the following cable messago to London:—Havo personally inspected the mine. Very satisfactory. No reason for fall in shares. Developments show very considerable improvement north of number twelvo winze, WAIHI RETURN. Waihi,'April 26. During the twenty-four days' crushing ending April 13, tho Waihi Company crushed and treated 26,173 tons of ove for a return valued at £<16.106. The cabled report to-day includes information of the value of tho Edward lode in tho winze within 50ft. of tho lowest level, tho value for the nidtli of four feet being £15 ss. DREDGING RETURNS. Dunedin, April 26. The following dredging returns arc to hand:—Electric, 400z,; ICaraunui, 370z. 16 dwt.; Manuherikia, 350z.; Electric I, 330z. 17dwt.; Masterton, 19oz. 16dwt.; Koputai, 13oz. 4dwt.; Waikaia, 7oz. 3dwt. MOUNT LYELL MINE. By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright Melbourne, April 26. The Mount lij'oll mine returns for the four weeks ending April 17 show that there was treated 26,565 tons of ore, which produced 568 tons of blister copper, containing 561 tons of copper, 37,0370z. of silver, and 70floz. of gold. MINING CONFERENCE. OWNERS' ASSOCIATION FORMED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Walhl, April 26. A conference of representatives of the gold mining companies of the Dominion concluded yesterday evening. Mr. Chas. Rhodes, of the Waihi Company, presided. It was resolved, to form a New Zealand Goldmine Owner:' Association for the purpose of protecting the industrial and legislative interests of the industry. A representative committee was appointed to frame rules an<l regulations.
