M'Laron. Vasterday the party workers applied for 101)0 enrolment forms, Tho election will take place about- .May 20, and the supplementary roll, now in process of compilation, will remain open until fourteen clear days prior to the day of the election. Already the l.abour organisers have secured the names of upwards of two hundred citiK-ns. icu- enrolment Tile Labour candidate for election to tho council will be selected at a meeting of tho party on Monday evening next. The names of n number of probable nominees were published in Tim Dojhsios yesterday. _ Mr. James Fairway now states that it is not a fact that lie is likely to Uccomo a. candidate for tho vacant seat in ilie City Council. He ndds that ho has no intention of standing.
