SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Present indications are for high westerly winds, veering to southerlies everywhere' soon. Cold and boisterous weather is probable generally, with rain in most parts of the country, and snow on higher levels. A decided rise in barometric prcssuro is to be expected everywhere soon. The barometer has risen in the north, but is still falling in the southern : districts. . Southerly and westerly winds, strong to gale, have been experienced, with cool, changeable and showery weather. D. 0. BATES. Meteorological Office, Wellington, April 25, 1912. DISTRICT REPORTS. (From Our Special Correspondents.) Wanganui, April 25.—Wintry weather; frequent heavy showers; strong westerly wind; river considerably higher. Feilding, April ?s—Windy, wet day and cold night. Palmerston, April 25,—Weather fine; cold wind blowing. Shannon. April 25.—Showery and unsettled. The local creeks and the Manawatu River arc high. Otaiii, April 25.—Dull' morning; fine afternoon. Rainfall to 9 a.m., .07 inch. I'eatherston, April 25—Fine day; N.W. breeze. Carterton, April 25.—The weather is beautifully fine after the heavy rain yesterday. Greytown, April 25.—The weather is a little finer to-day after the rain.
