COMMITTEE MEETING. (By Telegraph—Special Correspondent.) Palmerston, April 23. The monthly meeting of the general committee of the Manawatu A. and I'. Association was held today, Mr. M. A. Conway presiding. Correspondence was read from Mr. F. Moore, of'Kai'lwi, stating that his trophy for the next show would take the form of a small rose bowl i'cr most points in stud cattle, and was to be won twice in succession or three times at intervals.— Received. From the acting-secretary of the Wauganui Northern Rugby League, asking for the use of the showgrounds on June 3.—Referred to ground committee. From the secretary , of the Masterton A. and P. Association, stating that Mr. Jas. Stuckev had been .appointed to act with Mr. Balsillie as delegate to the conference to be held at Doncaster. From the Romnoy Breeders' -Association, stating that Mr. J. O. Batehelar. had been asked to represent the association at the International Sheepbreeders' Conference at Doncaster. From the New Zealand Jersey Cattle Breeders' Association donating ,£5 to the funds of the A. and P. Association, and stating that a herd book could not bo.given free—Resolved to purchase a book. On the motion of the president, it was agreed that the seal of the association be fixed to .an agreement .between the association and Messrs. Pascal Bros, in connection with the transfer of a section at the back of the showgrounds to the association for a piece of land fcr the continuation of ■ Cuba Street through the education reserve.—Messrs. Jacobs and Gibbons were appointed to interview the Commissioner of Lands in regard to the matter. The finance committee recommended the completion of the lease (in a slightly altered form) between the military authorities and the association for the use of tiie showgrounds for camps. The report was adopted. Eleven new members were elected. The ground committee recommended that n committee comprising Messrs.-Con-way, Johnston, Dunk. M'Hardy, Gillies. Lancaster, and F. S. M'Rae be appointed to meet the auctioneers with the object of formulating a. scheme for holding ;in annual ram fair at Palmerston North. Mr. R. M. M'Knight was elected to fill a vacancy on the committee. Mr. Ernest Short moved: "That it be n recommendation to the incoming committee that a sub-committee be appointed to drav: up a list of names of theso who would be likely to serve the best interests of (lie association by being placed on the schedules."—The resolution was carried. A deputation from the Manawatu Hnnt. flub waited oil the association ill regard to the hunters' competition. Mr. L. IT.
