M'Lnren, candidates for the Mayoralty, and also members of the City Council, haye resigned from the council to contest the higher position, nor is it necessary that they should ilo so. If eithor of the' two candidates mentioned happen to be elected it will mean that there will bo an election to fill the vacancy on the council. Mr John Smith will 9peak at the Kilbirnie Hall at 7.50, and at the Methodist Schoolroom,- Molesworth Street, at 8.30 to-night. Mr. A. S. Bis?, candidate for the C'ify Mayoralty, will meet members of his various committees at 5.30 p.m. 10-day, at his commitlos-rooni, Lambton Quay.
