(By Telesraph—Special Correspondent.) . Wanganui, April 22. Two young men had an exciting experience at Castlecliff yesterday afternoon. They wero fishing from a small boat, and wero swept over the bar, on which thcro was somewhat of a sea. Two unsuccessful attempts were made to re-enter, tho second ending in the boat being dashed on to tho south mole; both men managed to climb the rocks, but had to remain there, with water dashing over them for some time, before a rescue was effected, ono being considerably knocked about, and having his feet badly cut. The last bowling match for the Fountain Banner took place yesterday,, when tho Wanganui Bowling Club took the trophy for the season, just topping St. John's Club's aggregato by one point; six matches in nil were played during the season. St. John's being runners-up and Gonville third.
