Mr. Bride, who was picked up, and is among tho saved, had both his feet injured. Hβ bore testimony to Mr. Phillips's courage. He strapped a lifebelt on Mr. Phillip3 while tho latter was informing the Olympic that tho Titanio was sinking. The water was then entering the wireless room. A stoker attempted to remove Mr. Phillips's belt, but Mr. Brido knocked him down. Mr. Phillips went to the after-bridge, and was clinging to it as he (Mr. Bride) wns washed overboard. The sea was dotted with people who wore- depending on thoir lifebelts. Another witness states that he saw Mr. Phillips die on a. raft from exposure. Mr. Comtan, the wireless operator on the Carpathia, states that Mr. 'Phillips's last message was: "Como quickly. The engine-room is filling to the boilers."
