v "The Sins of Society," a Drury Lano drama, by Cecil Raleigh and Henry Hamilton,' was produced by Mr. Geo. Marlow at tho Adolphi Theatre, Sydney, on April G. Tho leading parts were sustained by Mr. Hugh Buckler, Miss Violet Paget (Mrs. Buckler), Miss Elwyn Harvey, Nellie Mortyne, and Mr. Harry Diver. Mr. Reginald Wykeham has . entered into partnershiup with Mr. "Eddie" Noble, and tho_ two are to bring a comedy company to New Zealand, opening in Auckland on May 27. Tho Wellington dates aro June 17-29. They are to produce threo comedies—"Mr. Plaster of Paris," "The Belle of Newport," and "My Other Wife." The London variety stage has had somo big attractions lately. Sir Herbert Trco was secured by one theatre, and did.big business with his turn. Last month Mr. Oscar Straus, composer of "Tho Chocolate Soldier," was at the Coliseum with a Vienueso orchestra of picked musicians, who, under his personal direction, gave selections from tho most popular of tho macstro's works.
