CASE ON APPEAL.

Argument was concluded yesterday in tho appeal case—lnternational Investment Company, Ltd., v. Andrews-which opened before tho Full Court on Monday. On the Bench were Mr. Justice Williams, Mr Justice Denniston, Mr. Justice Edwards' Mr. Justico Cooper, and Mr. Justico Chapman.

Sir John Findlay, K.C., with him Mr. A. Hnnna, of Auckland, appeared for tho nppellent. and the Solicitor-General (Mr. J. W. Salmond) for the respondent. On February 2 Inst the police at Wellington proceeded ngainst tho International Investment Co., Ltd., for selling to Harold Petersen (on January 5) a premium bond isiued bv tho municipality of tho City of Paris, by which permksbn ytas given to Petersen to have an interest in a scheme by which prizes of money arc gained by a mode of chnnce. The information was kid under Section 41 ([» of tho Gan.ing Act of 1008. Dr. A. M'Arthur, S.M., who heard tho "ase, delivered a reserved decision on February 13, convicting the company and imposin? u fine of ,£SO. . Tho appeal to tho Full Court was from the magistrate's decision. Judgment was reserved.
