FARMER RIFLEMEN.
ANNUAL SHIELD COMPETITION. Tho third annual competition for tlio Farmers' Union ride shield lias been fixed for Hay 24 and May 25, entries for tho shoot closing on April 30. The distances aro 200, 300, and 500 yards, seven shots at each range. Last year the shield, whioh is presented by the Colonial Ammunition Co., was won by tho Kaitangata branch: Tho teams aro made up of six members from any branch of the union, and last year twenty-two teams entered.
