ALLEGED STABBING.
A FOREIGNER COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. (Br Tcleeraiili.—Press Association.) Auckland, April 15. A young foreigner named Paul Haller was charged at tho Police Court to-day with having caused Arthur Thomas, a carter, actual bedily harm. According to tho statement of Suli-lnspcctor Hemlry, the nion occupied a hut in Epsom. One evening an altercation occurred, mid Haller, using an offensive expression, had his nose pulled by Thomas. Mailer retaliated by picking up a pocket knife oft a bed and stabbing Thomas three or four times. lioth men were sober, and Haller had subsequently expressed regret for his action. Acc:i*od, who pleaded "not guilty," and reserved his deience, was committed for trial at the Supremo Court.
