TAXI-CAB BLOWN UP.
OUTPACE IN PARIS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Paris, April 12. A taxi-cab while passing along a street was demolished by an infernal machine. The chauffeur and a passer-by were injured. The outrage is believed to be tho work of Anarchist strikers. During tho night of February 21 explosions took place inside about a dozen taxicabs standing in the premises of various Paris companies, the drivers of which were on strike. The next morning, when an investigation was made by the police, small glass test tubes wrapped in cotton wool, and containing, apparently, some combustible ljquid, were discovered concealed between the cushion of the seat and the back of the cab in several vehicles. One of these subsequently exploded in the hands of a sub-director of the National Laboratory who had been sent for to analyse the contents of the glass vessels. Ills hands were burned, and a policeman standing near was injured ill the face. The damage done to the taxi-rabs was slight, but had the exnlosions taken place when they had left the garage and were carrying fares the results might have been serious.
