MUTINY IN CHINA.
UNPAIDTROOPS LOOT NANKING

Peking, April 13. A body of 1500 troops has mutinied at Nanking, owing to the non-payment ot their wages. The outbreak began at midnight, with dramatic suddenness, and the looting and burning of the town continued for several hours. Villages were also burned for miles around.
Ten thousand loyal Cantonese troops invested the disturbed area, and niter fierce fighting drove the mutineers to their barlacks, killing fifty and disarming a thousand. Many of the soldiers found in possession of loot were summarily executed.
Minor outbreaks of a similar character are reported from other places on the Yangtze Valley.
