KINO'S VISIT TO INDIA.
A HINDU APPRECIATION
•••■A correspondent sends "The Times" the following interesting appreciation of the King's visit to India, which he has received from a Hindu, of position and inlluence:—.
"It was.a magnificent sight, no doubt, the Delhi Durbar; nothing like it is possible in any part of. the globe than in India. But the other sight in Calcutta, the.show of who!e-hea;te<l love and affection to their Sovereigns, by' the people of Bengal, was really wonderful, and their Majesties were visibly affected. You have no doubt rend his last speech when leaving Calcutta. If we liked him as Prince of' Walts, we worship him now as KingEmperor; he has so far taken possession of our heart. To toll you tlie truth, the King has saved India. It was drifting towards a most hateful state of things; people thought they were under a system of Government without a soul, without a heart, and without any sympathy; now they know they have a personal Sovereign, n kind-hearted King-Emperor, and that lie is full of sympathy ami care and. watchful concern far their gcod. God bless their Majesties is the fervent prayer that has gone forth from every household in Bengal durim: the few days of their stay in Calcutta."
