; (By Telegraph— Special Correspondent.) Palmcrston, April 11. A sitting of the Native Land Court is being held in Palmerston, and is expected to continue for about ten- days. Judge Gilfedder is presiding, and Mr, H. P. Parnta is acting as interpreter and Clerk of the Court. A large crowd of Pulmerstonians assembled at the Palmerston railway station to-day when the Main Trunk express passed through to Wellington, to wish, bon voyage to Messrs. J.' Beit, J. Balsillie, .1.1). Batchelar, and several others, who are leaving on a trip to England. Mr. Nathan devoted himself mostly to crit'eisiug the administration of the present '"ayor (Mr. J. A. Nash). The latter is to give .inother address in the course of a few days. The supporters of both parties me working hard to ensure the success of their respective candidates.
