NEW-SOUTH WALES TREASURER. By Telegraph—Press Association -Cop jrlehl Sydney, April 11. Mr. John Dacey, State Treasurer, died suddenly this morning. He was removed to a private hospital yesterday, suffering, it was supposed, from acute rheumatism. The fatal termination of the trouble was unexpected. The Labour cause loses one of its most prominent stalwart supporters. (Rec. April 12, 0.35 a.m.) ! , ' Sydney, April 11. There is widespread regret at Mr. Dncey's death. The expressions of appreciation come' from all parties. The State Premier, Mr. M'Gowen, said no one could desire a more sturdy henchman. A State funeral will take place to-morrow. The late Mr. Dacey has been Treasurer of New South Wales since November last. Ho was elected to the State Parliament for Botany in 1895, and has sat for Alexandria since 1901. He was born in 185!!, and was a master coachbuilder and blacksmith.
