3REAT LOSS OF LIFE REPORTED. $y Telceraph—Proas Association—Copyright London, April 9. Router's Cairo correspondent states that a crowded ferry steamer sank after a collision on the Nile at midnight, and that it is believed that 200 persons were drowned. There were 300 persons' aboard the steamer at tho time. The vessel with which she collided saved,many of those on the sinking steamer. Seventeen bodies have already been recovered. The city is plunged in mourning. (Rec. April 10, 11.0 p.m.) Cairo, April 10. A terrible panic followed the collision Tho number of the drowned is still unknown.
