His Eminence Cardinal Bourne, the head of tho Roman Catholic- Church m England, has written the following letter"to Mr. T. E. Sedgwick concerning; that L-entleman's boy emigration scheme:— •'Dear Mr. Sedgwiok,-I am much pleased that such singular success has attondetl vour self-sacrificing efforts m apprenticing youths from the Old Country to farmers in New Zealand, and I feel that I must sond you a lino to say that I consider the work you are doing to be of the highest possible value, and that 1 wish you continued success in your endeavour to start young fellows on a career that with due diligence on their part, will place them not merely beyond the rear:!, ot poverty, but in good substantial positions."
