MI?. FISHER ASKED TO STAND,
A deputation waited upon Mr. F. M. B. rishor, M.P., yesterday, and nsked him to conic torward as a candidate for tho Uty Mayoralty. Mr. Fisher premised to consider the matter and let the deputation have a definite, reply in the course of (ho jiext few days, Mr. A. 8. Biss has decided to allow himself to bo nominated for tho Mayoralty of Wellington. Mr. Biss is a partner in Iho firm of Badham and Biss, accountants and auditors, and occupied a, scat on the City Council from ]!)05 to 1909.
Other candidates already announced are Messrs. J. Smith (Acting-Mayor), H 4. Wright, and D. M ! Laren.
The elections will bo held on Wednesday, April 24, and nominations close on Wednesday, April 17.
