AN IMPROVEMENT IN VALUES. | Heavy supplies of fruit ami vegetables were available at Allen ami Blair Streets Markets last week, but Hi ere was a good demand for all lines. Vegetables were very plentiful, and values showed an improvement. Peaches arc still plentiful, also apples and pears, but eggs were scarce and dear, the price ruling at the close of the week being Is. lOd. per dozen. During tlio week Island oranges sold at !)s. to lis. per case; bananas, 9s. to 13s. pel- case; Mestcn.i lemons, 15s. per halfcase; pines (smooth), 10s. to 155.; pines (rough.i, 'Js. to lis.;• plums, -s.
