UNDER CANVAS.

FIFTH REGIMENT AT TRENTHAM,

The inclement weather yesterday did not interfere to any great extent with tho work of the Territorials at Trentham. Ihe men wero kept busy at aiming practice under covcr, and they vcro also excrcised in squad drill and manual drill. The enthusiasm of both officers and men is remarkable, and they take their work and pleasure with equal earnestness. A "social," organised by a committee composed mainly by officers, was a feature of last night's entertainment. Colonels Purdy and Begg, of the Medical Staff, visited tho cainp yesterday, and found all well. The commissariat arrangements aro apparently quite satisfactory, as so far there have been no complaints.
