DEMONSTRATION AT DANNEYIRKE. [By Telegraph.—Pices Association.) Dannevirke, April 8. Tlio first demonstration held under the auspices of the United Districts' l'irc Unhides' Association commenced on fiatunlay, and was continued to-duy in dry, but windy, weather, in tho presence of a large gathering of spectators. Two hundred firemen competed. Tho following aro the results:— Coil-Coupling Championship (ono man). —Wang.inui (5S 4-ssec.), 1; Napier (63 4-5 sec.), J; Dannevirke (5!l 2-ssec.), 3. Wangaliui won in running oil' a tie. Hose Hydrant Union (three men). — Dannevirke (33 +-.isoe.), 1; Napier Railway (3li 2-f>s:>c.), 2; Napier City (37Jsec.), 3. Coupling (two men).—Napier B (34 4-5 sec.), 1; Wiuijjanui (31 i-ssec.), 2; Napier A (37see.), 3. In the run off Napier won. Hose Hydrant Union (fivo men).—Dannevirke (34 l-s?ec.), 1; Wanganui (35 3-5 sec.), 2; Spit (37 4-ssec.), 3.
