MOTOR-CAR ACCIDENT.

OVERTURNED AND BURNED. A motor accident occurred to a shooting party returning by motor-car from 'laikorea to Fcildins on Good Friday night. While endeavouring to turn a corner not far from Oroua Bridge, the front axle broke, causing the car to overturn into a ditch, the occupants being thrown out in all directions. With tho exception of Mr. Morris (the driver) the party escaped with a few bruises and slight cuts. A gentleman passing in another car brought tour of the travellers into r.ilmcrston, whero arrangements were made to relieve the remainder. During their absence a stranger ottered his assistance, and whilo helping with the car dropped a match on tho benzine-soaked draught, with the result that it immediately burst into flame. In a few minutes the whole car was burning iiercclv. All efforts to subdue the flames were unsuccessful, and in a little time nothing but the frame was left, the car belonged to Mr. Roberts, Clerk ,of the Court at Fcildiug, and was uninsured. Tho occupants wore:—Messrs. Morris (driver), Jacobson, Noble, Gower, M Kay, imd Pnrrv. Mr. Morris received fill injured shoulder, which necessitated his removal to his home in Feuding.
