NINETEEN 1, lIINISTER-MISSIONEHS. Nineteen loading Congregational ministers from various.parts "f.Jlngland acted us missioucTs in a .simultaneous mission , in Leeds from February H to 10. "A distinct success"-, is (he verdict of one of the resident ministers., "'i'hu iiuinber of decisions for Christ which have taken place at (he meetings has been very t-nrau raging,■ ami there, are good grounds for expecting that these will l:e further increased in the near future. Raiwrls of a quiet but uumistukable quickening of the spiritual life-of the churches arc heard on every hand. 1 have seen-representatives of nearly till the churches, and they aro unanimous in bearing .voluntary testimony that this, the chief aim that was in view, has been abundantly realised. Several causes contribute to this success. There was thorough preparation, in which Kevs. Bertram Smith and Franc-is Wriglcy bore the chief burden of. organising; there was a welccniß lack of sensationalisni;. aiul the uiissioners gave of their very best. The following ministers look part ■.-■Kevs. Principal GiiHith-Joncs, J)r. James (Enh'eld), T. KhomWa Williams, David Walters, li. 11, Carlisle, J. Folhcringluun, I , '. Liuisdown, H. Wfblj, J. S. Druminond, S. H. j.avcr, J. Jameson, M. Stacey, J). C. Tincker, J. 1 , . Perkins, I'. 11. Brine,.l3. J. Saxton, 0. K. Hobfcs, F. 11. Blanchford, and Melville Harris. ■■■-..-,- Each, took one of .the nineteen Congrega-tional-pulpits in the city. Congrcgatiuns on the-week-nights, averaged.well over 100, and, considering that the-mission was avowedly more to the churches than to the outsiders, this is a'remarkable figure. The mid-day services at the Philosophical Hall were also well attended. Kevs. David Walters, Khimdda Williams, ond James Fcthcriughaiu, JI.A., were tho preachers, l''orms ot application for Church, member,; ship were placed- in tlio pews. It was noticed (hat tho most numerous decisions were found in the churches midway between the suburbs and "down-town."
