Messrs. Dalg;ty and Co. report:—At our Palniorston bate oa Thursday ■.here wes a very good yaraing ot cheep and cattle, the majority oi whicn sold under the hammer. Sheep: Cull'lambs, ss. 2d.; mixed lambs, Vs. Yd. to Vs. lid.; cull two-tooth ewes, Bs.; four-tooth :o f.ui. ewes, IDs. id. to 10s. lUd.; two and four-tooth ewes, to 135.; lioinncy' rams, to 1} guineas. Cattle:—Weaner heiI'crs, £2 Us., £3; fifteen-mouth heifers, to £3 155.; store cows, £3 Us.; yearling steers, £2 10s.
Messrs. Abraham and ■ffillia.ms, Ltd., report:—At our I'almerston North sale on Thursday, we had , a fair yarding of both sheep and cattle, which sold at late rates. Sneen: Kapc liiuibs, Us., Es. 7d., lo Ss. lltl.; smaller, ss. lid. :o 65.; four and live-year owes, 9s. lid. to 10s. 6d.; rams, 15s. Cattle: Kighteen-uionth steare, £3, yearling steers. 38s. 6d. to £2 10s.; store cows, £3 is. to £3 10s.; two-year heifers, £3 125.; springing heifers, £6 10s.; bulls, £2 10s.
Messrs. Williams and Kettle, Ltd., rcpor; having hold their fortnightly saie at Woodville un April 1, when they ottered a fair yarding oi sheep and' cattle to tl:.: usual at-'.endunce of the public. Bidding was fairly brisk lor all classes of stocic, and they effected a total clearance, with the exception of a small pen of ewes. Stock realised the following prices:— -Uixed-tox shorn lambs, 7s. 4d.; four, six, and a.m. ewes, 9s. 2(1.; cull lambs, 4u. <d.; fat wethors, 13s. 7d.; ;wo-tooth wethers, small, 11s. 6d.; fat bullocks (lig.>:), £6 Is.; two and a, half-year steers, £4 Ins.; store cows, £3 155.; springing cows, £8 155.; mixcd-Eex weaucrs, 335., 305., to 375.; fat cows, £4 2s. | Gd.; pearling steer!,, £2. The firm also report as follows on thiir Makotuku sale, held in the Association's yards on April 3:—A very small yarding of ba.h shoop and cattle came forward, and bidding was very slack for most classes of stock. They report the following prices:—Two-tooth ewes (small). 11s. Id.; cull lambs, ss. 3d.; store ewos, 7s. 3d.; weansr heifers, 355. 6d. The firn. report having held .a clearing calu at Papatawa on April 2, on account of Mr. A. Vi'. Furze, who has sold his proper.!'. All classes of stock were j'arded in good condition, and met with a ready sale, with the exception of a Uμ of aged ewes, which were' passed in. On account of the new owner taking over the main flocli, there were only the cull ewes and lambs auctioned. Yearling heifers. £3 Is.; dairy cows, £7, empty cows, £2 11s.; cows and calves, £3 175.; mixed wcanors, 325.; eight-een-month steers, £3 18s.; two and a halfyear Eteers, £4 15s. 6d.; eighteen-month steers (bad colours), £2 18s.; swes, Us. 6d.: cull lambs. 3s. 2d.; one six-year cob, £19 10s.; one gig. £20; one set gig harness, £6. All classes of .furniture realised satisfactory prices.
